Samsung Announces Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series with New Ultra Model Featuring Slimmer Design
Bluetooth SIG registrations confirm that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup will be split into two distinct models: a broader standard version and a slimmer Ultra variant. The Ultra is reported to use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 5,000 mAh battery and to measure about 4.1 mm thick when unfolded, though an official launch date has not been set.
The series adds several refinements: a lighter chassis around 200 g, a more durable hinge, improved crease control and a brighter, larger outer display that reaches up to 2,600 nits. Internally, the phones will offer up to 16 GB RAM, 45 W wired and 25 W wireless charging, and a 50 MP main and ultrawide camera setup, while the selfie camera sees only minor changes. Notable omissions include S Pen support and full IP68 dust‑water resistance. Samsung positions the Z Fold 8 line as a step forward for foldable smartphones, aiming to balance premium performance with everyday practicality.
