Samsung Announces Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series with Ultra and Wide Models, Pricing and Features

Samsung will unveil its next‑generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July 2026, with pre‑orders opening the same day and retail shipments expected in early August.

The Fold 8 Ultra retains the previous generation’s starting price of $1,999 for the 256 GB version, with a 512 GB configuration projected at $2,200‑$2,250 and options up to 1 TB. The new Fold 8 Wide is rumored to start around $1,800, offering a slightly lower‑priced alternative. Early engineering samples indicate the devices now weigh about 199 g, feature a wider aspect ratio and a significantly less visible inner‑display crease, addressing long‑standing criticism of foldables.

Leaks reveal storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB and colour palettes that include cream, graphite, lavender, pistachio, green and magenta for the Fold models. The devices are expected to run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the accompanying Z Flip 8 will arrive with a new hinge design and, in some markets, an Exynos 2600 processor. The launch positions Samsung to maintain leadership in the premium foldable market.
