Samsung unveils expanded foldable lineup and announces budget Galaxy A17 5G price drop
Samsung is preparing three new foldable smartphones for a July 22, 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The Fold 8 and Ultra models will be offered with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage and new colour options such as Lavender, Violet Shadow and Green Shadow. The Ultra version is positioned as the top‑end model with enhanced camera hardware.
In parallel, Samsung is promoting deep discounts on existing devices. The Galaxy A36 with 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM is listed on Amazon for €259, including a 2.5‑year extended warranty. The Galaxy A17 5G, equipped with a 6.7‑inch Super‑AMOLED display, 90 Hz refresh rate, 50 MP camera, 5 000 mAh battery and up to six Android and six‑year security updates, topped Amazon’s smartphone bestseller list at €139 during Prime Day.
Samsung also rolled out the One UI 8.5 update for the 4G variant of the Galaxy A15, initially released in South Korea and now spreading to additional markets. The update adds features such as AirDrop compatibility, split‑screen recording and new UI blur effects.
