Samsung develops Galaxy A58 and XCover FR alongside A08 4G

Samsung is advancing development on several upcoming smartphone models, according to recent database registrations and regulatory certifications.

GSMA Association and IMEI database entries confirm work on the Galaxy A58 (model SM-A5860) and a rugged device named the Galaxy XCover FR (model SM-G778B). The Galaxy A58 is expected to succeed the A57, with some reports suggesting a potential release in early 2027 or as early as next year, depending on regional rollout schedules.

In the budget segment, the Galaxy A08 4G has received certification from Anatel in Brazil. This model is expected to feature a significant battery upgrade to 6,000mAh, up from the 5,000mAh capacity of the Galaxy A07 4G. Technical documentation indicates the device may include a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 50MP rear camera, while potentially offering extended software support of up to six years.
