Samsung accelerates One UI 9 development and testing

Samsung is accelerating its software development cycle, with internal testing for One UI 9.5 already underway for the Galaxy S26 series, even as the company rolls out the One UI 9 beta program. The fifth beta of One UI 9 is currently being deployed to Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra users in regions including South Korea, India, and the UK, focusing on stability fixes for the Settings app, camera widget, and Phone app UI.

For the new Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Flip8, and Z Fold8 Ultra series, One UI 9 is the stable launch software. As part of this release, Samsung has introduced a new classical ringtone featuring Chopin’s ‘Nocturne in E-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2’, performed by South Korean pianist Yekwon Sunwoo.

Future software updates are also being planned, with One UI 9.5 expected to bring enhanced dark mode features, such as native dark icons for third-party applications to improve visual consistency. While the Galaxy S26 series is a primary focus for upcoming updates, older models like the Galaxy S23 FE are expected to receive One UI 9 as their final major Android version update.
