Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy S26 series

Samsung has begun the global rollout of its One UI 9 software update, based on Android 17, starting with the Galaxy S26 series. The update introduces several advanced Galaxy AI features, including My FanCam for automatic video subject tracking, Now Brief for customizable information cards, Call Brief for contextual call data, and Now Nudge for proactive task suggestions.

While the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are the primary recipients, the rollout includes other devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy S26 FE. However, access to the full suite of Galaxy AI features is hardware-dependent; some models, particularly FE versions, may lack specific tools like Call Brief.

The deployment is occurring in stages. While South Korea saw early access, some regions have experienced scheduling shifts. For instance, in Thailand, the update for the S26 series was moved to September 28. Older models, including the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7/Flip 7, are expected to receive the update around late September, with the Galaxy S23 FE following in October.
