Samsung One UI 9 rollout faces international delays
Samsung has begun the rollout of its One UI 9 interface, based on Android 17, starting with the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea on September 16. The update introduces enhanced Galaxy AI features, including dynamic video recrimping, generative Now Brief cards, and improved document scanning tools.
However, the international deployment is facing significant delays and uncertainty. While initial communications in regions like Thailand suggested specific release dates in late September, Samsung has since removed concrete dates from its regional newsrooms, leaving only vague references to a September release. This lack of transparency has caused frustration among users in various markets, including the UK and Thailand.
The rollout is being implemented in stages. While the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 series launched with the interface pre-installed, other models such as the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold7 are expected to follow. The Galaxy S23 FE update has also been pushed back to later this year.
