Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy S24 and Z Fold6 series
Samsung has begun the stable rollout of its One UI 9 software update, based on Android 17, for several flagship device generations. The initial deployment has targeted South Korea, specifically for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6. Following the previous release for the S26 and S25 series, this expansion brings updated features to older flagship models.
Key features of One UI 9 include enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities, such as Now Nudge for contextual suggestions and My FanCam for video focus. The update also introduces a more customizable Quick Panel, improved privacy and security settings, and refinements to Samsung Health and system applications. For users upgrading from One UI 8.5, the download size is approximately 3.5 GB to 3.8 GB, while those moving from beta versions will receive smaller packages around 400 MB to 500 MB.
In addition to the current rollout, internal testing has been spotted for One UI 9.5 on the budget-friendly Galaxy A17 5G. This future iteration, expected to debut in early 2027 alongside the Galaxy S27 series, may include features like App Lock and smoother animations. While the One UI 9 rollout is progressing in Asia, users in Europe and North America can expect the update to arrive in waves following regional validation.
