Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout based on Android 17

Samsung has begun the global rollout of its One UI 9 interface, which is built on the Android 17 operating system. The update is being deployed in phases, starting with flagship models such as the Galaxy S26 series and recent foldables like the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Some older flagship models, including the Galaxy S25 and S24 series, are also receiving the update, while the rollout gradually extends to mid-range devices like the Galaxy A57.

One UI 9 introduces several new features driven by Galaxy AI. Notable additions include ‘My FanCam’, an AI-powered video tool that automatically tracks and crops a specific subject within a video, and ‘Now Nudge’, which provides contextual suggestions during device use. Other improvements include a redesigned Samsung Health interface, enhanced document scanning, and updated privacy indicators. The update also brings refinements to Samsung DeX, the Interpreter tool for real-time translations, and the quick settings panel.

While the rollout is underway, availability varies significantly by region, device model, and carrier. Some older devices, such as the Galaxy S23 series, may receive One UI 9 as their final major operating system update due to Samsung’s software support policies.
