Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy S26 series
Samsung has officially begun the stable rollout of its One UI 9 interface, based on Android 17, starting with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra series. The update, which follows several months of beta testing, is being deployed gradually across global markets, with South Korea receiving the initial release.
The update introduces several advanced Galaxy AI features previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. Key highlights include ‘My FanCam’, which uses AI to automatically track and reframe a selected person in recorded videos, and ‘Now Brief’, which allows users to create and edit personalized information cards for health, weather, and news. Other AI-driven tools include ‘Now Nudge’ for contextual messaging suggestions and ‘Creative Studio’ for generating image ideas.
Samsung has also enhanced device management and security. A new ‘Warranty and Care’ section is now integrated into the Settings menu, allowing users to check warranty status, run diagnostics, and book repairs. Security improvements include ‘Security Brief’ for malware and suspicious app alerts, as well as expanded ‘Scam Detection’ capabilities for voice-based fraud in markets such as Japan, Canada, and India. Additional refinements were made to the Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder applications.
