Samsung begins One UI 9 rollout for Galaxy S26 and Z Fold8 series

Samsung has begun the global rollout of its One UI 9 interface, built on Android 17. The update initially debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8 series before expanding to the Galaxy S26 series, which began receiving the stable version in South Korea on September 16, 2026.

Key features introduced in One UI 9 include My FanCam, which uses AI to automatically track and center a subject in videos, and Now Nudge, which provides context-aware suggestions in messaging apps. Other enhancements include generative and editable cards in Now Brief, an improved Interpreter tool with thread views, and Creative Studio for AI-driven image generation ideas. The update also focuses on security with new tools like Security Brief and enhanced privacy alerts.

According to rollout schedules from Samsung Thailand, the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to receive the update around September 28, 2026, while the Galaxy S23 FE is slated for October. Users should note that deployment timing varies by region and carrier.
