Samsung confirms 13 Galaxy AI features will stay free

Samsung Electronics clarified that 13 core Galaxy AI functions will remain free for owners of compatible devices indefinitely. The company updated its terms to state that “Galaxy AI basic features provided by Samsung are free,” removing any expiry date that previously caused uncertainty.

The permanently free features include Call Assist, Writing Assist, Photo Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Browsing Assist, Photo Ambient, Drawing Assist, Bixby, Health Assist, Now Brief and Audio Eraser. Samsung noted that enhanced AI functions and third‑party AI services may still be subject to fees, leaving the door open for future paid capabilities.

This announcement follows earlier confusion after the company’s January 2026 wording suggested the free period would end at the close of 2025. By eliminating a specific end date, Samsung aims to reassure users that basic AI tools will continue to be available at no cost.
