Samsung Confirms Development of Galaxy Ring 2 Smart Ring

Samsung Electronics has officially confirmed that work is under way on a second‑generation Galaxy Ring. Senior Vice President Dr. Hon Pak told Forbes that the upcoming device will feature upgraded health sensors, a slimmer titanium case and a longer battery life of up to nine or ten days, compared with the current seven‑day endurance. Samsung said the main differentiator will be software, with new AI‑driven health functions that combine data from the ring, Galaxy Watch, smartphones and SmartThings devices.

The company has not set a launch date, but industry reports suggest a debut could be delayed until 2027, partly because of a patent dispute with rival Oura. While Samsung did not confirm iOS compatibility, Pak indicated that supporting iPhone users is a possibility.

The announcement signals Samsung’s intention to strengthen its digital‑health ecosystem and compete more directly in the emerging smart‑ring market.
