Samsung confirms Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra foldable smartphone
A Bluetooth SIG certification entry confirms Samsung's upcoming flagship foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, ending weeks of speculation over its name. The filing lists five model codes (SC‑56G, SCG‑39, SM‑F976C, SM‑F976Q, SM‑F976Z) and establishes a clear split between a standard Fold 8 and an Ultra variant.
The Ultra model is slated to be 4.1 mm thick when open—0.1 mm thinner than the Fold 7—and weigh 215 g thanks to a 5 000 mAh battery, both supported by 45 W wired charging. The standard Fold 8 will be lighter at about 201 g with a 4 800 mAh battery. Camera rumors suggest the Ultra will carry a 200 MP main sensor plus a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens, while the standard version may feature a 50 MP primary sensor.
Samsung is expected to unveil both devices, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8, at a global launch event on 22 July in London.
