Samsung Display begins mass AMOLED production for Galaxy S27 series

Samsung Display is reportedly preparing to begin mass production of AMOLED panels for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series this month. The series is expected to consist of four models: the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The introduction of a new Galaxy S27 Pro model is expected to increase the total display volume by approximately 10% compared to the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung Display aims to ship between 47 and 48 million panels annually for the S27 lineup, up from the low 40 million range for the previous generation. For the Pro model specifically, targets include 2–3 million units in 2026 and 4–5 million in 2027.

Rumored screen sizes include 6.27 inches for the standard S27, 6.47 inches for the Pro, 6.66 inches for the Plus, and 6.89 inches for the Ultra. Additionally, the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra may feature Privacy Display technology. While component production is ramping up to prepare for assembly in early 2027, these details remain unconfirmed by Samsung.
