Samsung Display dominates over 70% of laptop OLED panel market
Samsung Display currently supplies over 70% of the OLED panels used by major laptop brands, according to market research from Sigmaintell. This high level of supplier concentration is prompting PC manufacturers to seek alternative sources to secure supply volumes and improve price bargaining power.
Major brands utilize various sourcing strategies. Lenovo relies primarily on Samsung Display but also uses BOE and EverDisplay (EDO). HP depends heavily on Samsung while using EDO for certain models. Asus sources from Samsung, BOE, and EDO, and Acer receives approximately 75% of its OLED panels from Samsung. Dell uses LG Display for its XPS lineup but relies on Samsung for other models.
The laptop OLED market is expanding rapidly. Shipments grew from 2.1 million units in Q1 2025 to 4.3 million in Q2 2026, with projections reaching 4.9 million in Q3 2026. As OLED adoption increases, Chinese manufacturers such as BOE, Visionox, and TCL Huaxing are expanding production to capture more market share. By 2030, OLED is projected to hold a 20% share of the laptop panel market.
