Samsung Display unveils QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology

Samsung Display has introduced the QD-OLED Penta Tandem, a new display technology designed to combine high brightness with long-term durability. This innovation addresses the common trade-off in current screens where high color vibrancy and deep blacks often lead to faster panel degradation or eye strain.

The Penta Tandem structure utilizes a stacked design featuring five layers of organic emitting materials. By distributing the workload across multiple layers rather than a single layer, the panel can achieve peak brightness levels exceeding 3,000 to 4,000 nits while minimizing heat-related damage and preventing the panel from burning out prematurely.
