Samsung Electro-Mechanics holds first internal AI hackathon
Samsung Electro-Mechanics is hosting its first internal hackathon at its Suwon plant from May 13 to 16. The competition focuses on developing agentic AI to reduce repetitive tasks and improve workplace efficiency.
Participants are using the company’s proprietary generative AI, ‘SEMCo-Work,’ which was designed to ensure internal security while maintaining compatibility with existing systems. Approximately 100 teams are competing, with the goal of creating AI agents that can be shared with all employees after the event. President Jang Deok-hyun noted that the company is in the early stages of the AI era and must actively respond to growth and innovation through initiatives like ‘One Person, One AI Agent.’
