Samsung Electronics develops humanoid robot with precision-manipulation hands

Samsung Electronics is focusing on the development of humanoid robots equipped with five-fingered hands designed to mimic human dexterity. This technology utilizes a cable-based system to move fingers, functioning similarly to human tendons, which allows the robots to operate tools and navigate environments designed for humans.

Samsung Chairperson Lee Jae-yong is expected to visit the company’s robotic experience (RX) business division in Seoul to inspect the precision-manipulation capabilities of these robotic arms and hands. This visit marks a significant step in Samsung’s strategy to establish robotics as a primary future growth engine, placing them in competition with other major entities like Hyundai Motor Group and LG Group.
