Samsung expands Bespoke AI features for refrigerators and laundry appliances

Samsung Electronics is rolling out significant software and hardware updates for its Bespoke AI appliance lineup. Starting in September, certain refrigerators and laundry appliances will receive an update to Tizen OS 10.0, bringing features previously reserved for newer models to existing devices.

Bespoke AI refrigerators equipped with Family Hub screens will receive an expanded AI Vision update developed with Google Gemini. This technology enhances the ability to recognize and manage a wider variety of fresh and packaged foods, including brand-specific and regional products. The update also introduces screen-based experiences like ‘Now Brief’ and ‘What’s for Today?’ to assist with meal planning.

In the laundry sector, Samsung has introduced the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo 2026. This all-in-one washer-dryer features the AI Wash & Dry+ system, which uses sensors to detect load weight, water and detergent requirements, and fabric types. The unit also utilizes high-pressure water spraying and a new heat exchanger to improve efficiency. Additionally, Samsung is enhancing Bixby to support more natural, conversational voice commands for controlling laundry cycles and managing other connected SmartThings devices.
