Samsung expands health‑connected ecosystem with Galaxy Watch hub and updated Health app
Samsung is positioning its Galaxy Watch as a central hub for connected health, integrating the Samsung Health application to monitor heart rate, sleep, activity, stress levels and blood‑oxygen saturation. The company highlights advanced sensors such as photoplethysmographic (PPG) and pulse‑oximetry to improve data accuracy.
A new version of the Samsung Health app (v7.0) has been released with a modernised interface, compact information cards and AI‑driven personalised advice on sleep, nutrition and recovery. It adds health metrics such as a cardiac health score, fitness index, vitality score and a more detailed cardiovascular load indicator. While the app remains free, some wellness content may require external subscriptions. The update will roll out gradually and is designed to work with upcoming Galaxy Watch models, many of which will provide the biometric data needed for the enhanced features.
