Samsung expands Knox security to AI devices and Smart TVs
Samsung is integrating security and privacy measures across its device ecosystem, moving beyond mobile phones to include Smart TVs and AI-driven technologies. The company utilizes its Samsung Knox platform to provide multi-layered protection that begins at the hardware level, specifically within the chip architecture.
For mobile devices and AI integration, Samsung Knox and Knox Vault aim to protect sensitive user data, such as location and voice information, ensuring that increased device intelligence does not result in a loss of privacy control.
In the realm of Smart TVs, which account for 34% of identified vulnerabilities in connected devices according to Bitdefender and NETGEAR, Samsung applies Knox to protect user accounts, passwords, and payment information. This approach includes encryption mechanisms and the use of the Tizen operating system to implement certification processes for available applications, alongside regular software updates to mitigate emerging digital threats.
