Samsung Exynos 2700 reportedly outperforms Snapdragon 8 Elite in internal tests
Internal testing reports suggest Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2700 flagship chipset may outperform Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and its Pro variant across several key metrics.
In multi-core Geekbench 6.5 benchmarks, the Exynos 2700 reportedly achieved scores 9.5% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 19% higher than the standard Elite model. The chip also shows advantages in graphics performance; at a power limit of 2.5W, the Exynos 2700 is said to exceed the Pro variant by 22% and the standard version by 24%.
Efficiency and AI capabilities are also highlighted. Simulations indicate the Exynos 2700 consumes less current (161 mA) compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (185 mA). Additionally, in AI testing using Llama 3.1 8B, the Samsung chip reportedly generated responses 18% faster than its competitor. These developments could allow Samsung to utilize its in-house silicon more extensively in future Galaxy S27 devices to manage costs.
