Samsung Galaxy Maintenance Mode protects user data during repairs

Samsung Galaxy devices feature a Maintenance Mode designed to protect user privacy during technical repairs. When activated, the feature creates a separate, temporary environment that restricts access to personal data, including photos, messages, accounts, and usage history. This allows technicians to test essential hardware functions such as the camera, sound, screen, and connectivity without accessing the owner's private content.

While Maintenance Mode secures personal information, Samsung recommends that users perform a full data backup before handing their device over for service. Technical procedures, such as system restorations or storage replacements, may still result in data loss.
