Samsung launches Galaxy S26 FE and faces potential price hikes
Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 FE, the latest addition to its flagship family, with a strong focus on the Indian market. The device features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Exynos 2500 processor. It includes an enhanced triple rear camera system—comprising a 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto lens—alongside advanced Galaxy AI capabilities and One UI 9 software.
In India, the Galaxy S26 FE is priced at ₹79,999 and is available in a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. To encourage early adoption, Samsung is offering various incentives, including bank cashbacks, trade-in bonuses, and flexible financing options.
Separately, Samsung is facing upward pressure on device costs due to a global surge in memory chip prices. Reports indicate that the company is considering price increases for its Galaxy S26 lineup, starting in South Korea, to offset the rising costs of DRAM and NAND flash components. This trend is driven by high demand for AI-capable memory chips from data center manufacturers.
