Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra breaks records as top Android device
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has become the best-selling Android device globally for the second quarter of 2026, according to market research from Counterpoint Research. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time a high-priced premium model has led Android sales during a second quarter.
Analysts attribute this success to Samsung’s unusual release schedule. The Galaxy S26 series was introduced in late February, later than usual, which shifted a substantial portion of consumer demand from the first quarter into the second.
While Samsung achieved this record, Apple continues to dominate the overall smartphone market. The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro secured the top three positions globally. Samsung remains the only Android manufacturer to appear in the top ten rankings.
