Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra display shows red tint, company investigates

Since the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s launch in March 2026, owners have reported a reddish tint or a pink rectangular patch appearing in the centre of the screen after several weeks or months of use. The discoloration is visible on both personal devices and demo units in stores and does not disappear when brightness or colour settings are changed. Samsung has acknowledged the problem and said it is conducting an internal investigation. A company spokesperson stated, “We are currently examining the matter internally to confirm the cause.”

The defect has been linked by many users to the phone’s exclusive Privacy Display technology, which dims side‑view pixels to protect against shoulder‑surfing, but Samsung has not confirmed any connection. Other possible explanations discussed online include OLED burn‑in, adhesive or panel‑layer issues, and environmental factors. No recall has been announced and Samsung has not disclosed how many units may be affected. At present no software workaround resolves the issue, and affected customers may need a hardware repair or replacement once the cause is identified.
