Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra display tint issue confirmed, software fix planned
Owners of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra have reported a persistent red‑purple tint on the screen, especially when the display is set to maximum brightness and used under strong ambient light. The problem appears after three to four months of use and is most visible in the centre of the panel.
Samsung has clarified that the defect is not a hardware failure but a software‑related colour‑calibration error tied to the device's privacy‑display technology. The company says an over‑exposure to bright light can shift the colour profile, producing the red tint. Samsung is preparing an over‑the‑air software update that will automatically recalibrate the display, and users may also visit authorized service centres for an immediate software recalibration.
The issue has been reported by users in the Czech Republic and Germany, prompting Samsung to issue an official statement and reassure customers that a fix is forthcoming.
