Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra gets update to fix privacy display bug
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra users reported two display anomalies: a privacy‑display mode that darkened the entire screen and, in bright light, a reddish color shift. Samsung explained that both issues stem from software optimisation of the newly introduced Privacy Display feature, not from hardware defects.
The company has released One UI 9 Beta 4, which restricts the privacy dimming to the active picture‑in‑picture window while keeping the rest of the screen bright and usable. An additional software update is being rolled out to correct the colour‑balance problem that caused the red tint. Initially the fix is distributed to devices that visit Samsung service centres, with a wider deployment planned shortly.
No hardware repairs are required, and the updates are expected to restore normal operation for affected S26 Ultra owners.
