Samsung Galaxy S27 series battery certifications reveal capacity increases

New certification filings from Safety Korea and China’s 3C database have revealed technical details regarding the batteries for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra smartphones.

According to the records, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to feature a typical capacity of approximately 5,700 mAh (with a rated capacity of 5,534 mAh), marking a significant 14% increase over the 5,000 mAh capacity used in previous Ultra models. The Galaxy S27 Pro, a model expected to replace the Plus variant, is projected to have a typical capacity of around 5,200 mAh.

The batteries, identified by model numbers EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY, are manufactured by Zhuhai CosMX Power in China. Both devices are expected to support 60W wired charging. Reports suggest that while Samsung previously tested a 7,000 mAh prototype, the company opted for the current capacity to ensure sufficient internal space for the S Pen stylus.
