Samsung Galaxy S27 series expected to adopt Sony 50 MP camera sensors

Samsung is reportedly planning to replace the ISOCELL sensors it has used for years in its flagship smartphones with a 50‑megapixel Sony sensor for the primary camera of the upcoming Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models. The ultra‑wide lens on these devices is expected to stay at 12 MP, while the telephoto module will retain its existing optical zoom.

Additional rumors suggest that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will receive even higher‑resolution cameras, including a 200‑MP main sensor and a 50‑MP ultra‑wide sensor, plus upgraded front‑facing cameras of 16 MP with optical image stabilization. Samsung is also said to be evaluating cheaper Chinese‑supplied display panels for the new lineup. No official announcement has been made, but the launch is projected for the first quarter of 2027, likely between January and February.
