Samsung Galaxy S27 series expected to feature M16 OLED displays

Samsung is reportedly preparing a significant hardware refresh for its upcoming Galaxy S27 flagship series, expected in early 2027. The high-end Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra models are slated to feature Samsung Display’s next-generation M16 OLED panels. This technology offers improved brightness, energy efficiency, and color accuracy, with peak brightness potentially reaching 10,000 nits in specific areas. The premium models may also include Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology and a software-controlled Privacy Display feature.

In contrast, the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus models are expected to utilize M14 OLED panels, representing a step up from the current M13 technology.

Regarding camera specifications, recent leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 Ultra will likely retain its 5x periscope telephoto camera with a 1/2.52-inch sensor, contradicting earlier rumors of a move to a 4x zoom system. While the zoom hardware may remain consistent, the device might see a redesigned camera layout and the potential removal of the dedicated 3x telephoto lens to optimize thickness and design.
