Samsung Galaxy S27 series leaks reveal camera and design shifts

Leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series suggest significant hardware and design shifts. For the Galaxy S27 Ultra, reports indicate a potential move toward a single, larger 4x optical zoom telephoto lens featuring a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.9-inch size. This would replace the dual 3x and 5x telephoto setup found in previous models, prioritizing light intake and image quality over multiple zoom stages.

Design rumors point to a new ‘camera plateau’ layout, where lenses are housed in a wide horizontal module, a style reminiscent of recent iPhone designs. The S27 Ultra may also feature a more ergonomic, rounded frame to improve grip. While a 7,000mAh battery was reportedly tested, the final model is expected to feature a capacity between 5,700mAh and 6,000mAh to ensure the S Pen remains integrated.

The broader S27 lineup may include a more compact Galaxy S27 Pro, which is expected to share similar camera hardware with the Ultra but in a smaller form factor. The standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ models might adopt a shared 3x telephoto system with the Pro model, potentially standardizing zoom capabilities across the non-Ultra range.
