Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra leaks suggest major design and battery changes

Leaks regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra suggest significant design and hardware changes. The device is expected to move away from individual lens cutouts in favor of a horizontal camera island spanning the top of the rear panel. This new design may improve stability when the phone is placed on flat surfaces.

Hardware rumors indicate the S27 Ultra may feature a larger 5,700 mAh battery, which could increase the device's weight to approximately 218 grams, compared to the 214 grams of the S26 Ultra. While the battery capacity is rising, the charging speed is expected to remain at 60W, though Samsung may optimize the charging curve to maintain higher power levels for longer durations.

Samsung is also reportedly working to address display issues found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Specifically, the company aims to improve the quality and resolution of the ‘Privacy Display’ feature, which limits viewing angles to protect user privacy but has previously been linked to reduced clarity and eye strain.
