Samsung Galaxy S27 series leaks reveal new Pro model and chipset strategy

Reports regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series, expected in early 2027, suggest a significant restructuring of the product lineup. The series may expand from three to four primary models, introducing a new Galaxy S27 Pro positioned between the Plus and Ultra variants. This new Pro model is expected to feature a high-specification camera system and a display size around 6.5 inches, though it may lack S Pen support.

Chipset distribution is expected to vary by region. While the Galaxy S27 Ultra may exclusively use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processors globally, the standard S27, S27+, and S27 Pro models might utilize Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2700 in markets such as Europe and South Korea, while using Snapdragon chips in the US and China. The Exynos 2700 is reportedly built on a 2nm manufacturing process.

Display technology is also slated for upgrades. Higher-end models like the Pro and Ultra may utilize advanced M16 OLED materials and could introduce DC dimming technology to reduce eye strain caused by PWM flickering. However, rising component costs, particularly for memory, have led to rumors of potential price increases across the series, with some estimates suggesting hikes of up to 100 euros or 200 dollars per model.
