Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra slated for early 2027 launch with silicon‑carbon battery

Leaks suggest Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S27 series, including the flagship S27 Ultra, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January or February 2027. The Ultra model is expected to feature a 200 MP main sensor, a new digital‑zoom system replacing the 3× optical telephoto lens, and a front camera upgraded to 16 MP.

The device may be powered by Qualcomm's 2 nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, with some markets possibly receiving Samsung's in‑house Exynos 2700. Battery capacity is rumored to increase to 5,500‑5,800 mAh using a silicon‑carbon chemistry that offers higher energy density without enlarging the chassis, and could support Qi 2 wireless charging. The new battery technology might initially be limited to the S27 Pro and Ultra variants due to cost considerations.
