Samsung announces Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and new foldable lineup

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is set for July 22 2026 in London. The company will unveil three flagship foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Fold 8 Ultra is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 5 000 mAh battery and a 200‑megapixel main camera, while adopting a redesigned hinge and "Flex Titanium" chassis that makes the screen crease barely visible. Its 8‑inch inner display and 6.5‑inch cover screen will be larger and thinner than the standard Fold 8, which will feature a 7.6‑inch inner panel, 4 800 mAh battery, 12‑16 GB RAM and up‑to‑1 TB of storage. The Z Flip 8 retains a clamshell design similar to its predecessor, equipped with an Exynos 2600e processor, 4 300 mAh battery, 45 W wired charging and a 50 MP main camera. Leaked images and specifications confirm these details and suggest European launch prices of roughly €2 199 for the Ultra, €1 999 for the base Fold 8 and €1 299–1 499 for the Flip 8. Samsung also faces rising memory‑chip costs, which could pressure pricing, and is promoting the Flex Titanium technology to improve durability and reduce visible creases on its foldable displays.
