Samsung Galaxy uses Secure Folder and App Pinning for app security
Samsung Galaxy users manage application privacy differently than iPhone users. While Apple provides a direct per-app lock via biometric scans, Samsung utilizes a two-part approach consisting of Secure Folder and App Pinning.
Secure Folder, powered by the Samsung Knox security platform, creates an isolated and encrypted virtual container. Applications within this folder function as separate clones with their own independent data, cache, and credentials, providing enterprise-grade security for sensitive apps like banking or private messaging.
For less sensitive needs, such as preventing a child from navigating away from a single game, Samsung offers App Pinning as a lightweight alternative to restrict device access to a specific application.
