Oura launches Ring 5, world’s smallest smart ring with health radar
Oura announced the Ring 5, a fifth‑generation smart ring that is 40 % smaller than its predecessor – 6.09 mm wide, 2.28 mm thick and weighing about 2 g. The titanium body is IP68‑rated to 100 m depth and the battery lasts 6–9 days on a single charge.
The ring’s sensor array has been rebuilt with stronger LEDs, twelve signal pathways and a new sensor dome for better skin contact, delivering higher‑precision heart‑rate, temperature, SpO₂ and motion data across a wider range of finger types and skin tones.
New software features debut as “Health Radar”, which continuously monitors biometric signals and alerts users to patterns that may indicate elevated blood pressure or disturbed nighttime breathing.
Additional additions include live activity tracking (real‑time pace, distance and heart‑rate from a connected phone), GLP‑1 medication insights, health‑records integration for US users, and an optional charging case that adds up to one month of extra battery life for $99.
Pricing starts at $399 for Silver and Black finishes, $499 for premium colors, with a mandatory Oura Membership of $5.99 per month (or $69.99 per year). Pre‑orders are open globally and shipments begin on 4 June 2026, initially in the United States, India and the United Arab Emirates, with other markets to follow.
