Samsung Galaxy Watch expands Suica service capabilities in Japan
Samsung Electronics Japan has announced an expansion of Suica services for select Samsung Galaxy Watch models. This update allows users to manage Suica on their Galaxy Watch through the Mobile Suica app on a paired Android smartphone.
In addition to existing direct charging capabilities on the watch, users can now purchase commuter passes, Suica Green Car tickets, and special discount tickets via the smartphone app. The update also enables charging the watch-based Suica using credit cards registered in the Mobile Suica app.
Supported devices include the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch Ultra2, Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch6, and Galaxy Watch6 Classic, specifically for models sold in Japan. To use these features, users must update their watch software, the Galaxy Wearable app, Google Wallet, and the Mobile Suica app to the latest versions.
