Samsung Galaxy Watch gets security patch and WhatsApp upgrade
Samsung has begun rolling out a July security update for several Galaxy Watch models, including the Watch 7, Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic and Watch Ultra. Users are advised to open the Galaxy Wearable app and check for the "Software update for watch" package, as the patch addresses multiple, undisclosed vulnerabilities that could affect health data, authentication and Bluetooth communications.
A separate update adds four new WhatsApp features to the same smartwatches. The messenger can now start new conversations, mark chats as read or unread, and allows users to pin chats or messages, archive and mute conversations directly from the watch. Both updates are installed via the Galaxy Wearable app on a paired smartphone.
