Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 at Galaxy Unpacked 2026

Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on 22 July 2026, unveiling three new foldable smartphones. The flagship Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the first Ultra‑branded foldable, featuring an 8‑inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, a 6.5‑inch cover screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, Flex Titanium hinge, a 4.1 mm unfolded thickness, 215 g weight and a 5 000 mAh battery. The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 adopts a “passport‑like” design with a 7.6‑inch 4:3 inner screen and a 5.5‑inch exterior, also powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12 GB RAM, 4.8 GB battery and a 201 g weight, aiming at better content consumption with reduced black bars. The Galaxy Z Flip8 is the most compact offering, with a 6.9‑inch FlexWindow main display, a 4.1‑inch cover, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (or Exynos 2600 in some markets), 12 GB RAM, 4 300 mAh battery and 180 g weight, plus AI‑driven features on the cover screen. Pricing starts at US$1,199 for the Flip8, US$1,899 for the Fold8 and US$2,099 for the Fold8 Ultra. Samsung also launched two new smartwatches – Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 – featuring health‑monitoring sensors, AI‑based insights and improved durability. The announcements emphasize slimmer devices, brighter screens, stronger hinges and a shift toward media‑centric usage.
