Samsung Galaxy Watch9 uses AI for health monitoring
Samsung's Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 utilize artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive health insights, specifically through the new Heart Health Score. Rather than relying on isolated measurements, the system uses AI to analyze data collected over a minimum of seven days to identify trends and avoid fluctuations caused by short-term changes like a single night of poor sleep.
The Heart Health Score synthesizes several factors, including average sleep duration, physical activity, vascular strain, and BMI. By analyzing these variables, the devices provide a single, intuitive score alongside lifestyle recommendations to help users improve their cardiovascular health.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch9 features vital sign monitoring during sleep, tracking five key metrics: heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiration rate, skin temperature, and SpO2. To ensure accuracy, the device establishes a personalized baseline for these metrics after at least seven nights of consistent wear, allowing it to notify users if their physiological data deviates significantly from their unique norm.
