Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Gains FCC Approval Ahead of July Unpacked Launch

Samsung’s next‑generation foldable smartphones have moved closer to market. The Galaxy Z Flip8 received FCC certification in the United States under model SM‑F776U, confirming a Snapdragon processor for the North‑American version, support for 5G, Wi‑Fi 7, wireless charging, and the new NB‑NTN B255 satellite band that enables emergency messaging where cellular service is unavailable. The certification also reveals a redesigned hinge intended to remove the visible fold line on the inner screen. Samsung plans to use its own Exynos 2600 chip for European and South Korean variants.

Separately, rumors suggest the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 will debut in two models – a Wide version with a 4:3 aspect ratio and an Ultra version – both sporting unprecedented display densities of 432 PPI (external) and 403 PPI (internal), a 120 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 4800 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging, and a triple‑camera setup headed by a 50 MP sensor. Samsung is slated to unveil the devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July in London.
