Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 design revealed as Europe braces for price hikes
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 series has been leaked, showing a redesign that prioritises user comfort. The new “soft‑fold” hinge reduces the gate‑fold effect, supports up to 20,000 folds and adds a dual‑active mode that lets both outer and inner screens run full apps. A larger Fold 8 Wide variant will feature dynamic split‑screen optimisation and AI‑driven UI adjustments based on user habits. Prototypes suggest the devices could launch in late July or August 2026 at Samsung’s Unpacked event.
At the same time, reports indicate Samsung plans to raise flagship Galaxy prices in parts of Europe, starting with Greece in early June. Increments of around €100 are expected for models such as the Galaxy S series, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and FE phones, and similar hikes could affect the Fold 8 line later in the year. Samsung cites rising component and memory costs, including a recent 15 % surge in DRAM prices, as the driver for the price adjustments.
