Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra set for July 22 launch
Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on 22 July, where it is expected to unveil three new foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Ultra model is rumored to carry a 200‑megapixel main camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and a Snapdragon‑based chipset, along with a redesigned hinge that reduces the visible crease and an anti‑reflective inner‑display film. Prices are projected to rise sharply, with the Ultra starting around €2,199 for the 256 GB version.
The Z Flip 8 is said to be thinner than its predecessor – about 6.1 mm when unfolded – and to weigh roughly 180 g, improving pocketability and ergonomics. Its cover screen is expected to be larger and brighter, and the device will run the latest Android version with Samsung’s AI features.
Samsung’s wearable lineup will also be updated at the event. Leaks show the Galaxy Watch 9 (40 mm and 44 mm) and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will switch from Samsung’s Exynos W1000 to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, add Bluetooth 6.0, larger batteries (up to 800 mAh for the Ultra 2) and, for the Ultra 2, a titanium case with 100‑metre water resistance. The Camera Assistant app for One UI 9 will debut a “Mirror View” feature exclusive to the new foldable phones.
A separate tip‑off claims a recent video of a supposed Z Fold 8 Ultra is actually a leaked Z Fold 7 unit, underscoring the high anticipation and speculation surrounding the upcoming launch.
