Samsung launches Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8
Samsung Electronics introduced its third generation of foldable smartphones – the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 – with worldwide sales beginning on 7 August 2026. The devices run One UI 9, are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and feature the new Flex Titanium display that reduces the visible crease. Samsung also added silicon‑carbon battery technology and AI‑driven features such as Gemini Notebook and Now Nudge.
Pre‑order demand surged, exceeding the previous generation by more than 30 % in several markets. The Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs 201 g, making it the lightest Fold model, and the Fold8 Ultra carries a 200 MP main camera, a 5 000 mAh battery and a 215 g chassis. Prices in Brazil start at R$ 12 599 for the Fold8, R$ 13 139 for the Ultra and R$ 8 279 for the Flip8, each sold with a 45 W charger.
Samsung’s strategy emphasizes reliability and an integrated ecosystem of services – Samsung Care Plus, Samsung Health and Samsung Wallet – to retain users beyond the initial purchase, positioning the new foldables as a flagship AI‑enabled mobile platform.
