Samsung Galaxy Z Series Pre‑Orders Dominated by 1030 Generation, Over 50% Share

Samsung Electronics reported that more than half of the pre‑orders for its Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Flip8 models were placed by consumers born in the 1990‑2000 decade (the “1030 generation”). The pre‑sale period, which began on August 28 and ends on August 3, saw the cream‑colored Z Fold8 as the most popular model, with strong demand for the brand‑exclusive pistachio and lavender shades as well.

To attract younger buyers, Samsung offered a double‑storage upgrade: purchasing a 256 GB device entitles the customer to a free upgrade to the 512 GB version, and a 512 GB pre‑order can be upgraded to 1 TB for an additional charge of roughly half the price difference. Additional perks include six‑month Google AI Pro access, three‑month Willa service, special game themes, discounts on Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9, and accessory coupons. Compatibility features such as Smart Switch, Quick Share and the updated Samsung Wallet (supporting Amex overseas payments, Millipass and travel services) were highlighted as further incentives for the tech‑savvy youth.

A Samsung spokesperson said, “From the start the 1030 generation responded strongly, confirming high expectations for the new form‑factor mobile experience,” urging customers to act before the pre‑sale closes.
