Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 prices rise for Ultra and Wide models
Leaks reveal that the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 “Wide” variant will launch in Europe at a starting price of €1,999, while the “Ultra” model is set to cost €2,199 for its base 256 GB configuration. Higher‑capacity versions add €200‑€600, with the 1 TB Ultra reaching €2,799. In the United States, the Ultra is reported at $1,999, and in India the Fold 8 is expected to be priced around ₹1.75 million. The price increases are linked to a global DRAM shortage that has pushed memory‑module costs sharply higher, a trend analysts say will continue through 2026.
The Wide model introduces a broader 4:3‑ratio display that reduces the device’s height and weight, making it the lightest book‑style foldable to date. The Ultra version adds premium hardware – a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 200 MP main camera, a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast‑charging, and up to 1 TB of storage. Samsung plans to unveil the Fold 8 line at its Unpacked event in London on 22 July 2026, alongside the Z Flip 8 and various smartwatch updates.
