Samsung holds 93% of Spain's foldable smartphone market after seven years

Samsung Galaxy devices represent 93 % of all foldable phones sold in Spain from the launch of the first Galaxy Fold in 2019 through the first quarter of 2026. The company reports more than a quarter‑million active users of Galaxy Fold or Galaxy Flip in the country and says its share rose to 86 % of units sold in Q1 2026.

David Alonso, Vice‑President of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics Iberia, noted that the category has moved from early doubts about screen durability to a mature premium segment, driven by continuous improvements in design, thickness, battery life and camera performance. He added that Samsung expects a 65 % growth in the foldable segment this year. The three best‑selling foldable models in Spain in 2025 were also Samsung devices, underscoring the brand’s dominance in this niche market.
